Elk Hill Murugan Temple

The Elk Hill Murugan Temple is one of the most divine and scenic temples in Ooty, dedicated to Lord Murugan, the Hindu god of war and victory. It stands majestically atop Elk Hill, about 4 km from Ooty’s main bus stand, offering a panoramic view of the entire town and the lush Nilgiri hills.

The temple is especially famous for its 40-foot-tall statue of Lord Murugan, inspired by the iconic Batu Caves statue in Malaysia. Alongside Murugan, you can also see beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati.

The climb to the top (around 400 steps) or a short drive rewards visitors with peace, fresh mountain air, and a deep spiritual atmosphere.
